How to Wire in the Optronics Sealed LED Utility Light # BUL78CB as Trailer Reverse Lights
Question:
I am looking to add two of these for lighting the rear of my trailer for backing at night. My trailer and truck are already wired through the plug for reverse lights. Would I need a relay on the trailer side to use the reverse wire to trip relay and 12v to illuminate for this application? Or could I just use the provided reverse wire to illuminate the lights without a relay? Thanks!

Expert Reply:
You would not need to install a relay to use the Sealed Optronics Lights # BUL78CB on your trailer. These LED lights draw such a minimal amount of amperage that all you would need to do is tap into the reverse light circuit of your trailer wiring and you would be good to go.
I attached an FAQ article on trailer wiring for you to check out also.
