Will Timbren Suspension System Help Smooth Ride For 2013 Ford F-250 Hauling A 5th Wheel Trailer

Question:

Ive had airbags on past half ton and 3/4 ton trucks to help deal with some of the bouncing and jarring we experienced when pulling our travel trailers. Weve now upgraded to a fifth wheel 42foot long and 11,000 pounds empty weight and Im looking for something to help smooth the ride on my 2013 F-250. I was going to order a set of Ride Rites, but started to read some of the reviews on the Timbriens. Do you have any advice on whether the Timbriens will help smooth the ride or are they better suited for handling heavy loads? Thanks in advance.

For your 2013 Ford F-250, the Timbren Rear Suspension System, part # TFR250SDG, should work just fine. These install in place of the factory installed bump stops so they should not interfere with the fifth wheel installation at all. These are designed to provide additional support as needed when carrying light loads, and become more rigid as more weight is added. One of my co-workers has these installed and said that when traveling over very rough roads, these will cause the ride to be a bit stiffer. They do work independently which helps for off-center loads, and take the bulk of the bumps on rough roads.

These require no drilling for installation. I have attached a link to an installation video on a 2012 Ford F-250.
