Do I Have to Drill Holes in My 2018 Ford E-450 Frame to Install Roadmaster Rear Anti-Sway Bar
Question:
I have received the sway bar and am about ready to install. I have watched the very helpful installation videos, but there is one issue that just doesnt seem to matchup. In the instructions, and in the video, it clearly states that drilling of holes in the frame to accommodate the new sway bar links is required. Yet, in one of the videos, it it CLEARLY stated that using the original link holes is perfectly fine. Ryans video, 9:25 mark. I have a 2018 Thor Motor Coach Chateau 31W with Ford E450 cut away. Will the sway bar work if I just use the original factory holes rather than trying to drill new holes? Doing the work in my driveway with no lift available. Drilling holes may be a pain. Thanks

Thanks for reaching back out and pointing out the video you found that in!
I checked out the video you referenced about the Roadmaster Rear Anti-Sway Bar # RM-1139-147 install on a 2019 Ford E-Series Cutaway (see linked) and while Ryan did ultimately install the links back to where the factory ones were located, he only did so because he was unable to properly drill and install the links into the vertical position like the instructions called for. The sway bar will still work like this but it won't be as effective.
If you have the means to drill the hole and install them vertically then I highly recommend doing so. You can install the links into the OEM holes in the frame like Ryan did but you won't see as much of a performance increase if you go that route.
