Troubleshooting Brake Controller that Has Output Voltage All the Time

Question:

Hello, the blue brake wire on my brake controller has power on it all the time is that normal or is my controller bad. Thank you

That would be a problem. Either your brake controller is shorted out and would need replacing like with our very popular and reliable P2 part # 90885 or you have a short from the 12 volt accessory circuit of your 7-way to the brake output circuit which would require you cleaning up the wiring between those two circuits. Typically if you go over the wiring you would find cut or exposed wire which you can clean up as needed.
