Weight Distribution and Air Bag System for 2019 Toyota Tacoma Towing Travel Trailer and ATVs in Bed

Question:

I will be towing with 2019 tacoma trd off road 4x4 access cab 6ft bed. My travel trailer has a gvwr of 3500lbs I expect tongue weight to be between 350-450lbs. I will also be hauling a quad and dirt bike in the bed of the truck, approximately 650lbs but not all of that behind the axle. My problem is I won’t always be hauling the bikes while towing, so should I size the WDH for the trailer and add air bags or size the hitch for the full bed and live with it when no weight is in the bed? Your help would be greatly appreciated

I think the air bag and weight distribution system combo is going to be your best option to cover both scenarios. But I would go with the system rated for the 350-450 lb of tongue weight like with the Fastway e2 part # FA92-00-0600 which has tongue weight range of 300-600 lb and then use air bags for additional support when truck bed is loaded like with the Firestone kit part # F2407. Set the system up spring bar tension wise for the weight of trailer without the ATVs loaded and then when they are loaded use the air bags to reduce the sag.
