Preventing Theft Of 5th Wheel Trailer Using Convert-A-Ball Cushioned 5th-Wheel-To-Goosenck Adapter

Question:

I have a convert a ball cushioned gooseneck coupler and cant find a definitive answer about what lock system will work on it. I have been looking at EZ Lock Gooseneck Coupler Lock Combo - Bulldog/Stallion/Superior/T.E.M. Gooseneck Couplersinch but am not sure.

The traditional gooseneck coupler locks like the # BLTL-53-40D2 will not work on this adapter. We do have a few solutions though that will help with theft reduction though.

First you can loosen the set screw that holds the inner coupler tube in, remove the coupler, and then store it in a locked vehicle or other location. If the coupler part isn't there no one will be able to come and steal your trailer when you're not around it. Another more traditional option would be using the Super Grip Chock # UF21-001090. Once this is in place between the two wheels you can lock access to the nut used to open and close the chock. This will help prevent the tires from turning on that side of the trailer.

You can also use a wheel lock like # WI491-491LNP. This will help prevent someone from removing the tire to defeat the lock. I linked two review videos below going into more detail on both items I mentioned above. If you have any further questions please feel free to reach back out to me anytime and I would be more than happy to further assist you in your towing endeavors.
