Can the Swagman Original RV Bike Rack Be Used to Carry E-Bikes

I have an original 3 bike carrier rated at 100 lbs,upgrading to e-bikes that will weigh 92 lbs.2.do you recommend my doing this?thanks!

No, I do not recommend using the Swagman Original RV Bike Rack # S64152-2 for carrying e-bikes. While the Swagman Original RV Bike Rack # S64152-2 has a total weight capacity of 100 lbs. it can only carry 35 lbs. per bike. E-bikes all typically weigh well over 35 lbs.

Instead you would want to use a bike rack like the Saris Freedom Bike Rack # SA4412B which can handle up to 60 lbs. per bike.

Or for a 3 bike option there is the Kuat Piston Pro X Bike Rack for 3 Bikes # KU95VR which can hold bikes weighing up to 50 lbs. per bike.

The key is the per bike weight, not the total rack capacity. Just because it fits the total weight, does not mean that the individual cradles and other components can handle the higher weight.
