The blue coating on the Kodiak Disc Brakes # KOD29FR is the KodaGuard coating on the calipers. The normal Dacromet coating on the brakes which has a 300- to 400-hour salt spray rating while the KodaGuard has an upgraded 500- to 600-hour salt spray rating so it's more durable.

Even though these do well to hold up to salt water it's still a good idea to hose down your boat trailer with fresh water once you're done boating to help prolong the life of your trailer.
