Will the ThermaHeat RV Holding Tank or Step Heater Pad Work on Water Tank Inside Aluminum Box

Question:

On my Black Series trailer the tanks are rotational molded poly inside of Aluminum bash boxes. This brings up two questions, the label on the pad says can only be applied to non-conductive surface. The tank is non-conductive but the aluminum bash plate is conductivenot the application side. Also, Other questions ask about insulating over the with the answer being No. Would sandwiching the pad between the bash plate and the tank be considered insulating over the pad? Overall question: can these heaters be used in this application?

The ThermaHeat RV Holding Tank or Step Heater Pad part # 277-000164 for 18-1/4" long x 12" wide or part # 277-000163 for 25" long x 7-1/4" wide will work fine on a water tank enclosed inside a metal box. That said, you wouldn't want the heater touching the box directly without any form of protection. The heater pad can be used on a metal surface but the surface but have some from of protection.
