Where Does Brake Controller Install in 2004 Ford F-250
Question:
I have a 2004 6.0 that was used by the first owner for towing a 5.th wheel camper Bolt holes are all still in the bed and a creaseinch in the front of the bed, glad the cab is not damaged as tends to happen, but it has towed before The first owner took all his towing items out of it when it was sold to the second owner. Im the third owner now. Im not seeing the same Gray and looseinch or free floating brake connector as shown in many videos online and I do not see anywhere that a break controller could have been installed in this truck in the first place Not even a screw mark in the dash or anywhere Im unsure if I have a 4-way or 7-way connector under there anyway. What I do see is, as shown in the following pictures, one picture is of the driver side looking at it and the other is looking down at it from the radio direction I have a BLACK plug going in to a GRAY plug in the exact area shown for brake connection by that dash bracing/bracket. Both ends go in to the original truck wire harness and are wrapped up OEM. So.... Do I disconnect this plug and just plug in a matching brake unit.? What about the other end of this connector Gray in this case that will be disconnected and left open.? As a side note, I have a brake controller from a 1997 F-150 as shown but have no information on it. Could I use this unit in my F-250.?

The brake controller you have is a Draw Tite Activator which would just require the install harness # 3035-P to install in your 2004 Ford F-250. It does look like you have this harness potentially already plugged into the brake controller wiring based on your pictures but since the picture is pretty zoomed in I attached another picture that shows where you'd find the harness on your truck for you to check out.
