Bestop Fabric Replacement Upper Door Weather Stripping Installation for a 1998 Jeep Wrangler

Question:

I have just put best top soft upper doors on my jeep, and seems to be leaking pretty badly when it rains...my question is..is the weather stripping to be tuckedfoot in at door frame, or is the flangefoot to be shown on the inside of door frame? Thank goodness for Husky liners, but still requires several towels to mop up all the water..

I have confirmed with my contacts at Bestop and the Fabric Replacement Upper Door Skin # B5312135 is confirmed as a fit for your 1998 Jeep Wrangler. When this door skin in installed, the weather stripping should line up with the door frame, and should not be prominently visible from either the inside or outside of the door.

Please check the weather stripping and make sure that it is lined up properly, and also inspect the weather stripping. It is noted in the included instructions that during installation the weather stripping should not be pulled on because it may tear. Take a look at the weatherstripping and make sure it is in good shape.

I have included a couple of photos, one is showing the weather stripping installed on a Jeep door and you can see the weather stripping alignment. The other is a diagram out of the installation instructions and shows the excess weatherstripping on the sides of the door tucked behind the flaps.
