Question:
how do you bleed a hydrastar actoator

First you need to make sure that the Hydrastar Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator # HBA16 activates so the hydraulic pressure is being made in your brake system. I recommend you do this by having somebody step on your tow vehicle brakes while your trailer is connected. The brakes will need to be pressed when you're performing the following steps.
First you will need to start with the brake furthest from the actuation, open the bleeder screw and allow it to remain open until seeing brake fluid free of air bubbles coming out of the bleeder screw. Next close the bleeder screw and move the next brake and so on until all the brakes have been blead. While performing I recommend to monitor the fluid level in the reservoir so that more air is not pumped into the brake lines because of low fluid level. To help prevent spilling brake fluid on the ground, use one end of a length of plastic tubing and place is over the end of the bleeder screw and place the other end into a container so you can check the fluid flow and monitor for bubbles.
If you have any other questions please feel free to reach back out to me anytime and I would be more than happy to further assist you in your towing endeavors.
