Bike Rack Recommendation for Rivendell Clem L and Recumbent Gold Rush Bikes

Question:

I have a 2012 Ford F-250 that has a 2” rear receiver with which I pull a 27’ Airstream Travel Trailer. The truck has a similar 2” receiver in the front which the prior owners used to carry bikes. I would like to do the same with my Rivendell Clem L step through bike that has 27 1/2” tires. I was looking at the Hollywood Sport Rider SE2 Part HR1450Z for such use. I also have an Easy Racers Gold Rush recumbent with a 66” wheelbase, 20’ front tire and 700c rear tire that I might want to transport on occasion but when doing so I’d have the hitch rack mounted on the rear of any vehicle. My primary goal and need for the present, however, is carrying the RIV upright bike on the front of my truck and most important want it to ride securely. Pictures of the bike follow. I recognize I also may need a stabilizer bar running from the bike’s seat post to handlebar stem to use with this rack if you think the latter will work. Thank you.

The Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE2 Bike Rack # HR1450Z along with the Adapter Bar # HRBA-PRO will do a great job at transporting your Rivendell Clem L bike, but since you're also wanting to potentially use this for your Easy Racers Gold Rush with the 66" wheelbase I recommend checking out the Swagman XC-Extended Bike Rack # S64650-EXT.

The XC-Extended is rated for 35 lb bikes with up to a 69" wheelbase with the XTC wheel hoops installed. This rack is a little more simple but it can accommodate both of your bikes and you can add a hitch lock with part # S64029 as well as a small padlock in the ratcheting arms to lock the bike(s) to the rack.

Attached are a few review videos of the racks for you to check out!
