Smaller Leaf Spring Plate for 7K Axle for Use with SumoSprings Trailer Helper Springs - Overslung

Question:

I have a 2018 Cedar Creek 36CK2 5th wheel with Dexter 7000lb Axles. Looking to install Sumo Springs but Cedar Creek specs in a 5 3/4 wide u-bolt plate in case they want to add shocks. Do you have a replacement plate that is narrower that will fit this axle and allow me to install Sumo Springs?

Expert Reply:

The U-Bolt Plate part # TRTP300200 will work great on a 3", 7,000 lb trailer axle and it's only 4" wide so it will allow you to use the SumoSprings Trailer Helper Springs part # SS26MV. It should be pretty easy to install, just remove the nuts from the old u-bolts and replace the old plate for this new one. If you can't get the nuts off the old u-bolts which is common, you can cut them and replace the u-bolts with the 3" Round Trailer U-Bolts part # SP01-080.
