How to determine a roof carrier length for the above vehicle to allow the rear hatch to open? Thank you

To determine the length of carrier that you can use on your 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee, you will need to measure the distance from the front crossbar to the line where the roof and hatch meet.
For instance the Thule Pulse Medium Rooftop Cargo Box # TH614 will require 42-5/8" between the front crossbar and the line where the roof and hatch meet to open the hatch. This cargo carrier will work with your Grand Cherokee and should allow you to still open your hatch.
If you would like a larger carrier and can provide me with the distance between the front crossbar and the line where the roof and hatch meet, I would be happy to provide you with a larger cargo box that fits.
