How To Remove Spring Bars from Fastway e2 Weight Distribution System with Round Bars
Question:
I have rotated it past to perpendicular and also pulled the tab to release the pin but one of the two bars wont release. I have tried it at numerous degrees with no luck. I have tried tapping the bar with a rubber mallot both at perpendicular and with he tab pulled with no luck. The bar does rotate and cam be used but I had to remove my hitch with the bar still attached.

I have attached for you below the write-up from the manufacturer on how to remove the spring bar arms from the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution System part # FA94-00-0800. If they were not lubricated prior to installation or periodically as stated in the owner's manual then they may be harder to remove, in which case I don't really have any secrets or tips unfortunately, it's just going to take some brute force aka a larger hammer or pry bar.
"Arms can be removed by either pulling on the keeper tab to release them, or by swinging them outward to be perpendicular to the tow vehicle. At this point, the arm will drop freely from the head without having to manually pull the keeper tab. Frequently apply a small amount of bearing grease to the head end of the spring arms, and up inside the hitch head to reduce wear and make insertion easier. This will also help reduce hitch noise."
