Will the Curt Echo Wireless Trailer Brake Controller Still Work Even When There's Poor Service

Question:

I live in California. First time using a truck to pull anything. We have lots of mountains and dead area for service. Will this affect the wireless brake controller? Would I need a wired one instead?

The Curt Echo Wireless Trailer Brake Controller part # C51180 will still work great even in rural areas with poor service. It doesn't actually use cellular data or WI-FI at all for function. It simply uses Bluetooth to receive and send signals between the mobile device and control unit so it won't be hampered in areas with poor signal. It does require an active data connection to install the app but then it would work great even when the phone is completely offline. If you somehow forgot to pay your phone bill and they cut service to the phone, the brake controller would still work. If your phone someone dies, the brake controller would still work using your last saved settings. I personally love this brake controller and recommend it to many even when towing through mountains.
