Is BAKFlip MX4 or F1 Tonneau Cover Better for 5th Wheel on 2022 Chevy Silverado 3500 Short Bed
Question:
bak flip 4 and 1. which is better when pulling a fifth wheel

Expert Reply:
While there are minor differences between the two BAKFlip tonneau covers for your 2022 Chevy Silverado 3500 with a 6-1/2 foot bed, for the purposes of using either cover when towing a 5th wheel, there is no real advantage with either the BAKFlip MX4 Hard Tonneau Cover # BAK448133 or BAKFlip F1 Hard Tonneau Cover # BAK772133.
The biggest difference between the two is that the F1 has more robust panels, made out of a reinforced polymer (a type of plastic designed for durability) and measuring 5/8" thick while the MX4 has 1/2" thick aluminum panels.
The other difference is the look, with the F1 having a textured appearance on the panels, while the panels on the MX4 are smoother. Otherwise, these are functionally the same quad-fold tonneau for your '22 Chevy when towing a 5th wheel, so it really depends on if you want the most heavy-duty cover. If you want the most durable option, or like the more textured look, go with the F1 # BAK772133, but if you prefer a smoother appearance, go with the MX4 # BAK448133.
