Will Gen-Y Gooseneck Hitch Reduce Shock on RV Frame and Help Prevent Damage

Question:

I have a long bed Dodge so plenty cab clearance. Will the Gen-Y hitch move the RV closer to the cab. I am hoping it will because the hitch I have puts a lot of strain on the fifth wheel frame. Have already had to have it repaired once.

A Gen-Y Hitch Shock Absorbing 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Pin Box item # GY73FR is not going to move your trailer closer to your Dodge Ram and if it does it won't be a significant amount. The cushioning of this setup will greatly reduce shock to your trailer frame when towing though since it will soften bumps. If the damage to your frame wasn't from overloading there is chance this would help with preventing damage due to the cushioning.
