Will CIPA EVO Formance Alfas Maximum Intensity 9005 Halogen Headlight Bulbs Melt Wires and Plug
Question:
Good morning, Can you tell me if you have had any issues with the wiring on the pigtail and the original vehicle connector heating up and melting with these bulbs. In the past I have used Silver Stars and over time they would melt the connector on the headlight wiring harness, and I dont want to deal with that again. Thank you

The CIPA EVO Formance Alfas Maximum Intensity 9005 Halogen Headlight Bulbs part # CM93447 have a rating of 85 watts so as long as you are using them to replace an equal or lesser rated bulb, there won't be any issues with overheating/melting. The issue you see with the plugs/wires getting hot and melting is usually attributed to using a higher rated bulb than what the system can handle. The wattage rating for your existing bulbs should be printed on the base but if it's not located there be sure to check your owner's manual.
If you need a lesser rated headlight bulb, check out our entire selection I have attached for you below. LEDs don't use a lot of power so they never get nearly as hot as halogen such as the 9005 LED Headlight Bulbs part # ARC87FR which are only rated at 16.5 watts per bulb so this may be an option for you too. They are also much brighter than halogen and last longer.
