Does the Brake on the Dutton-Lainson StrongArm Electric Winch Work with the Motor On/Off

Will the braking system enage while extending the cable and retracting the cable if the winch motor is turned off?

I spoke with Dutton-Lainson about the Dutton-Lainson StrongArm Electric Winch part # DL25001 and was able to confirm that the dynamic brake works in both directions whether the motor is on or off.
