Will Yakima RidgeBack Trailer Hitch Mount Bike Carrier Fit 2009 GMC Acadia and 2014 Dodge Durango

Question:

Does the Doubledown Ace 4 fit a 2009 GMC Acadia with the factory towing package? We plan on using that vehicle for a short time only then transferring the Doubledown 4 to a 2014 Durango with the factory towing package. The Durango looks like no problem but the Acadia Im not sure. The rack is needed to carry 3 Gary Fisher 17inch frame mountain bikes with provisions to carry a 4th bike.

The Yakima RidgeBack, # Y02458, should fit a 2013 GMC Acadia. Basically, the Acadia or Durango will need to have a Class II or III trailer hitch and the distance from the center of the hitch pin hole back to clear the rear bumper will need to be less than 10 inches. If that matches the set up on the Acadia and Durango then it will fit great.

If any of the mountain bikes do not have a top frame bar that goes straight across (like a typical mens bike would) then I recommend using bike adapter bar # Y02531. This will allow you to carry those bikes more level and will provide better ground clearance. I have to use these adapters and without them my wifes bike would be at a severe angle and I would not be able to load my sons bike at all. I have linked a video showing how the adapter works.
