First you will need the Universal Installation Kit # ETBC7. This kit contains the wiring needed to convert your current 4-way flat connector on your 2023 Chevrolet Equinox into a 7-way. It has wiring to carry power for a charge line as well as the brake controller wire. I recommend using the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller # RED52VR thanks to its small profile. The main unit gets mounted behind the dash so you will only have the small control knob visible. The controller is proportional so it will adjust braking force on the trailer depending on how hard you are braking.
