Will 5th Wheel Base Rails Work On a Truck with Gooseneck Hitch Installed

Question:

I think we have this in our truck today - Curt Custom Underbed OEM-Style Gooseneck Trailer Hitch - 32,500 lbs Item # C60642 I want to install a 5th wheel hitch - Curt PowerRide 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch - Dual Jaw - 30,000 lbs Curt Semi-Custom Fifth Wheel Installation Kit - Dark Gray Finish Part Numbers: C22ER,C85BR Can I install the 5th wheel hitch while the gooseneck kit is installed? Or, do I have to remove the gooseneck underbed kit before installing the 5th wheel hitch. I would like to have the option of gooseneck/5th wheel without going through removal/install each time. Thanks

I do have an option for you but you cannot install fifth wheel base rails on a truck with a gooseneck hitch. The frame brackets for either will interfere will one another. The best option which would not require you to remove the gooseneck and still allow for gooseneck towing when needed would be a gooseneck to fifth wheel hitch for which I recommend the Blue Ox Gooseneck-to-5th-Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter part # BLU52XR. The Blue Ox will simply drop onto the hitch ball and then it allows you to secure the trailer using the funnel system which makes for fast and easy hookup. The hitch is also very lightweight when compared to traditional fifth wheel hitches so it's easy to take in and out of the truck bed by yourself.
