Is a 2003 Dodge Ram 2500 Considered a Light Truck for Tire Chains
Question:
I was considering purchasing the Glacier Twist-Link Snow Tire Chains with Cam Tighteners for Light Trucks, However, I am not sure if my truck is considered light in regards to tire chains..I mean its not a dump truck but not a small pick up either. Would these chains work?

Helpful Expert Reply:
A light duty truck is going to be your standard 1/2 ton, 3/4 ton, and 1 ton trucks. Medium duty would be like the 550s which are typically commercial applications. Since you have a 2500, 3/4 ton then it is a light duty. So you can use chains # PWH2228SC provided that your tires size is listed on the bottom of the product page for the chains and as long as they meet the chain requirements specified in your truck owners manual. I have linked a video to the right showing a typical installation and a link to our FAQ article on chains for you.
