2017 Ford F-250 Shows Trailer Connected Message After Installing Tailgate Light Bar

Question:

I have a 2017 F250 Superduty Platinum with BLIS and Trailer sensing. When I spliced into my 7 wire connector, the truck thought I had a trailer attached when the brake lights or turn signals came on and my BLIS was disabled. Does the Curt 55384 harness by pass this issue some how?

I do have an option for you but you need a light bar designed for a 2017 Ford F-250 with trailer detection, the Putco Blade LED Tailgate Light Bar part # P34KR is the only one I know if. This light bar won't trick the truck into thinking there's a trailer attached due to how it installs using the plug-in adapter. This plug-in adapter only works with their light bars. If you were to use any standard light bar that plugs into the trailer connector you're going to get the same issue which is that the truck thinks there's a trailer attached, there would be no difference with the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness for Factory Tow Package part # C55384 either.
