Trunk Mount Bike Rack Recommendation for a 2007 BMW 335i Coupe
Question:
Two questions: 1 Will one of your hitches which specifically says that it is for 4-door sedan fit my BMW 2-door 335i coupe? The undercarriage appears to be the same. 2 Also, I would like the hitch to be as invisible as possible when Im not carrying my bikes. On some installed hitches that I see on cars, almost the entire structure is visible ruining the appearance of the car from the rear. Which hitch do you recommend?

The trailer hitches available for the 2007 BMW 3-Series will not fit the 2-door models but I do have a possible solution for you. You can use a trunk mount bike rack instead of a hitch and bike rack. This will also help with the appearance of the vehicle since when you are not carrying the rack will not be on the car. Plus you would not have the extra weight of the hitch on the car all he time.
There are a few trunk mount options that will fit your vehicle and I have included a link to them to the right. I recommend the Thule OutWay # TH45JV. It uses 2 rubber coated straps instead of 6 straps like other racks. Fewer connection points means it installs quickly and easily. The cables are also very sturdy and will last longer than straps.
The rack also includes the ability to lock the rack and the bikes to deter theft.
If you will be carrying any bikes that do not have a top frame bar that goes straight across (like a typical mens bike would) then I recommend using bike adapter bar # TH982XT. This will allow you to carry those bikes more level and will provide better ground clearance. I have to use these adapters and without them my wifes bike would be at a severe angle and I would not be able to load my sons bike at all. I have linked a video that shows how the adapter works.
