Is Ultra-Fab Deluxe Electric Landing Gear Set # UF17-943010 Suitable for Heavy Equipment Gooseneck
Question:
I have a heavy gooseneck trailer. Currently it has a pair of manual jacks. I think they are bulldog brand. The box tubing on them look to be about four inches square. I have seen motors to fit the jacks I have but I would like to have the ability to use the two motors to level things out like I have with my fifth wheel trailer. The trailer is a tandem dual trailer with a pair of ten thousand pound axles.

The Ultra-Fab Deluxe Electric Landing Gear Set you referenced, part # UF17-943010, is suitable for use on both 5th wheel and goose neck trailers. This dual motor landing gear set has a combined capacity of 12,000-lbs so it will work fine on your goose neck as long as its fully-loaded pin weight does not exceed this 12K rating.
Installation consists of welding on the hangers to the front of the trailer frame (below the overhang). You will want a certified welder to do this. Then you will bolt the jacks to the hangers. The two power switches can mount on the trailer in a location of your preference.
This Landing gear is designed to level or stabilize a portion of your trailer weight but not to lift your trailer during tire changes or service work. The dual independent motors provide a 15-seconds-per-inch rate of travel.
If you wish to advise the part numbers from your existing manual Bulldog jacks I can check to see if a powered conversion kit is available to add dual motors to them.
