Recommended Air Springs and Compressor for a 2016 GMC Sierra 3500 Dually
Question:
Which air bags and compressor do you recommend for my 2016 GMC 3500 Hd 4x4 dually? I pull a fifth wheel with total weight of 18,500. Which is the most dependable compressor, a Wireless or the in cab switch to fill and dump model? Do you need to install an air tank for proper operation?

For your 2016 GMC Sierra 3500 dually, I recommend the Firestone Ride-Rite Red Label Extreme Duty Air Helper Springs item # F2709. These springs have a 7,500 lbs load leveling capacity are are compatible with in bed hitches.
Firestone air springs are the most reliable due to them having a rolled crimp seal that holds the air spring to the metal end plates. I have linked an installation video below.
As far as the most dependable onboard compressor goes, I highly recommend the Firestone Air Command II item # F2219. This dual path compressor will allow you to adjust your air springs individually to compensate for off center loads like a heavy slide out or kitchen on your 5th wheel. The electric dual-gauge control panel will allow you to control the 150 PSI compressor with the push of a button.
I prefer this system over the wireless ones because it has less parts to worry about braking and functions without the need for a remote or relying on your phone. The last one being an issue for anyone but you who's driving your truck and needing to adjust the PSI.
You do not need an onboard tank to adjust the PSI in your air springs. If you plan on using the compressor to routinely air up tires then you would want the Firestone Air Command II item # F2168.
I have linked a couple of installation videos below.
