Troubleshooting EC Error On Firestone F3 Compressor System and Compressor Constantly Running
Question:
I have a 2020 GMC Sierra Denali in which I installed the Firestone Ride Rite Air bags and remote compressor system. I have had it installed for 2 years with no issues. When I start the vehicle the compressor would alwasy come on for about 20 seconds maybe and immediately shut off. Within the last month it comes on at vehicle start and runs for a really long time, sometimes 10 plus minutes. The bags still fill and seem to work as normal. I thought maybe the filter for the fill line was clogged and checked that and it was perfectly clean. On the remote control it gives me the fault EC, which the manual indicated was a problem with the compressor. It seems to me like this might be some kind of electrical sensor or switch problem. Any advice on what to check next?

The EC code for the Air Command F3 comes on when the compressor runs for more than 4 minutes. I recommend starting with spraying a soapy water mixture on the air springs and all the air lines and connectors going to the compressor and manifold. If you find a leak in either the air line or one of the connectors it will need replaced.
Next you will want to check along the Wiring Harness # F2135829491 for any shorts that would cause the motor to stay running.
You can also have the compressor tested to determine if it itself is bad and need a Replacement # F9284. Over time the piston can wear on the cylinder and allow for air to escape the cylinder.
