Does 2022 Chevy Silverado Need Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator Adapter

Question:

I just ordered on 10/21 based on reading information on this adapter. Hope since I paid for 3-day shipping I receive it actually earlier would be great. We leave 10/25 to pickup our new 2022 Riverstone RV. I had read on many forums how their truck yes, even the newer 2022 GMCs have issues recognizing the Hydraulic brakes of their RV unit. This was the adapter to buy to fix that problem. We havent picked up the RV so we dont know yet if well actually have the problem or not. I figured instead of being left with not being able to bring our unit home because we had no trailer brakes Id purchase this NOW to have ready to install ASAP if needed. I just want to reconfirm what I read that this WILL work on our truck. I figured if we found we didnt have any issues with the truck and trailer not communicating with one another I could send it backed unused.

The integrated brake controller of your 2022 GMC Sierra 3500 has a hydraulic mode which would allow it to work with electric over hydraulic actuators without needing an adapter. With that said if for some reason the controller wasn't recognizing the actuator (this rarely can still happen. The Dexter adapter part # DX35FR will help with that and take care of the problem.

@Kayla Did you check to see if there's a hydraulic mode on your integrated brake controller? Normally the controllers need to be put into that mode to work with the EOH actuators.

@JamesonC I did go into the trailering system on my truck and found no where to change to eoh.

@Kayla Try this link. It says in the dash display there is a way to change the setting: https://www.duramaxforum.com/attachments/trailer-brakes-2022-1500-pdf.1106732/
