What are the Dimensions of the Mounting Brackets on Bulldog Rack and Gear 750lb Trailer Jack

Question:

My boat trailer currently has a Fulton CL 23 trailer tongue jack. It mounts just like this one from Bulldog. The trailers tongue has very little space front to back to mount a jack. I have purchased one that the bolts run horizontally and it would not fit. How wide are the mounting plates on this Bulldog jack as mounted front to back? This would be the smaller of the two dimensions of the plates.

I went out to the warehouse and pulled Bulldog jack # BD169201 and measured the mounting plate. Its dimensions are 4 inches wide by 4-1/2 inches long. I made a short video that will appear on this page showing the measurements.

If this jack will not work for you I recommend something like rack and gear jack # BD018161 along with # BD018006. It will need to be welded to the bottom and outside of the trailer frame. Welding should be done by a qualified professional.
