How to Fix Proximity Sensor Red Flashing Light Error on Furrion 34" Electric Fireplace
Question:
Rv electric fireplace keeps getting led flashing red light which indicates something in front of the proximity switch, nothing is in front of unit. I was wondering if you had any ideas about what it could be. I currently have it running but had to bump it up to 80 degrees, it was doing this in stand by or set at 70. Thanks for your help John

I spoke to Furrion about the Furrion RV Electric Fireplace with Logs part # FF34SW15ABL and they informed me that they are aware of two potential causes for false detection of the proximity sensors. The first one is part of the trailer's trim blocking the sensor and causing it to go into a protection mode. The fix for this is to cut the wire mesh around the eye to open it up more or modify the trim in the trailer.
The other issue is the motor overheating which will have the same error sequence as the proximity sensors. This is usually caused by using the fireplace as your main source of heat which is not its intended purpose. It is intended to be a supplement to the furnace in the trailer according to the manufacturer.
If neither of these solutions work then the unit will need to be replaced due to the faulty sensors/motor. That said, keep in mind the unit has a one year warranty and this issue should be covered under that warranty if you are still within this time frame.
