Best Air Ride Suspension For 2022 Grand Design Solitude 346FLS 5th Wheel Trailer
Question:
I installed the LC1565391 air bag suspension on my 2022 Grand Design Solitude 5th wheel camper. In all I have seen and read air pressure recommendation if 5# per 1000# of trailer weight and/or the pads on the air bags be about 5” apart and parallel. With this camper weighing 17,000# that would make the air pressure at 85#. When I inflate to that pressure the pads are not on the air bags are not parallel, they are grossly wide open. For the pads to be parallel I had to lower the pressure to about 45#. Is this normal? Am I missing something for the pressure to be so much less when the pads are parallel? Thank you

Going with an air ride suspension is a really smart idea, and the best upgrade for your 2022 Grand Design Solitude 346FLS 5th wheel trailer is the Lippert Center Point, which replaces your equalizers and gives you new ones with air bags in their place. The correct part number is the following:
- Lippert Center Point by Trailair Air-Ride Suspension Upgrade # LC1565391
The Center Point # LC1565391 is for tandem axles up to 8,000 lbs, which I verified your Grand Design does indeed have. When installed, this system will give you a much smoother ride than any other suspension upgrade because air bags do a better job of absorbing movement and vibration.
