Recommened B&W Turnover Ball System for a 2022 GMC Sierra 2500
Question:
I have a 2022 GMC Sierra 2500 standard bed crew cab SRW. I have a conventional tow trailer but want to go fifth wheel. I don’t have an OEM puck system. I see that BandW has an under bed turnover ball system I watch several of your installation videos . Is that a foundation for mounting a fifth wheel hitch in the bed to be able to remove and have full use of the bed? I don’t plan to use a gooseneck, just a fifth wheel but I don’t want the bed occupied by the hitch when not towing. Please advise. Thank you

Yes, you are correct the Custom Underbed Installation Kit item # BWGNRK1020-5W is a platform for a 5th wheel hitch that can be completely removed. This underbed turnover ball system is confirmed to fit your 2022 GMC Sierra 2500. It is custom fit and attaches to holes already drilled in your frame.
I have linked an installation video below.
For a compatible 5th wheel hitch, you will want the B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Slider item # BWRVK3400-5W. This sliding hitch will give you 12" of travel for backing and making tight turns. It has a 20,000 lbs capacity and attaches directly to the turnover ball system.
To make towing with a 5th wheel easier I recommend adding the Curt 5th Wheel/Gooseneck Custom Wiring Harness w/ 7-Pole Connector - 10' Long item # C56000. This harness puts a 7-way connector in the bed of your truck and allows you to keep the one on your bumper. This makes hooking up to your 5th wheel trailer easier and more convenient.
You will not be able to use a rotating pin box with a Turnover Ball System. The B&W Companion Slider item # BWRVK3400-5W and standard Companion item # BWRVK3500 are the only two 5th wheel hitches compatible with the Turnover Ball System.
