If there is a gooseneck hitch in the bed of the truck then you would need a 5th wheel trailer to gooseneck hitch adpater. Using an adapter would mean that you cannot also use a Sidewinder, like part # RP34FR. It would create too much stress on the truck and the trailer.

I would recommend the Andersen Ultimate 5th Wheel Connection, part # AM3225. Using this adapter would give you approximately 5-1/4 inches of offset toward the rear of the truck for your fifth wheel. It has an aluminum adapter that attaches to the kingpin on your trailer and also attaches to the hitch ball on top of the base. I have attached a link to a product review video for this adapter.

The other option would be to remove the gooseneck hitch and install a stationary fifth wheel hitch and then a Sidewinder on the fifth wheel. If you would choose to use this option, you would need to make sure the Sidewinder is compatible with the pin box on your fifth wheel. The Sidewinder will only fit certain pin boxes, so we would need to know the make and model of the pin box to determine if a Sidewinder will fit. This information should be on a sticker or plate on the pin box.

I have attached a link to a help article about gooseneck to fifth wheel adapters.
