Recommended Gooseneck Hitch for a 2012 Chevy Silverado 3500 w/ Aluminum Flatbed

Question:

Can you tell me the difference between the Curt C607-604 gooseneck hitch. And the CHT-60710 gooseneck hitch. I have a 2012 Silverado extended cab 3500HD with and aluminum flatbed will either of these work?

There is no difference in the Curt Double Lock, Flip and Store Underbed Gooseneck Hitch item # C607-604 and the CHT-60710 you referenced. They're just different part or inventory numbers. The Double Lock is confirmed to fit a 2012 Chevy Silverado 3500 with a standard truck bed. The flat beds typically sit up higher off of the frame than a truck bed so the custom fit gooseneck options don't work.

For your aluminum flatbed you will need the B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch for Flatbed Trucks - 30,000 lbs item # BWGNRK1500. The hitch normally gets welded to the bottom of the bed but depending on the height of your flatbed you may need to fabricate some kind of steel surface under the bed to which the hitch could be welded to. This will raise it up to work with your aluminum flatbed.

I have listed the dimensions below for the B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch # BWGNRK1500.

Overall dimensions of the plate- 6” X 8”

Bottom of the plate to the bottom of the socket Fin (brace) – 2-1/4"

Bottom of the plate to the end of the socket – 3-3/4"

Top of socket to center of latch pin hole – 2”

Full length of socket – 4-3/8”
