Does Cladding Need to be Removed on 2012 Toyota 4Runner For Aries Rocker Steps
Question:
Will this fit a 2012 4Runner SR5 with the rocker panel cladding trim down the side? Ive noticed many step bars call for the factory rocker trim to be taken off. The ones pictured dont have the rocker trim common on the 2012 SR5 and the Limited. Just curious about how to manage cleaning up the trim if I have to take the cladding off. Thanks

The cladding will indeed need to be removed on your 2012 Toyota 4Runner SR5 in order to install the Aries Rocker Steps w / Custom Installation Kit # AA2074150.
That's going to be true of any of the steps we carry, and the manufacturers don't seem to mention that because from what I could find it was mostly the Limited that had the extra cladding. So if you remove that you can install the steps, though as for cleaning up the trim, this is not something we have experience in so I can't say for absolute certain the detailed process on how to go about doing that.
