Does Loadstar ST185/80D13 Bias Trailer Tire Need to Be Filled to 65 psi?

Question:

My old tires 185/80r13 were swapped out for new tires from your shop 185/80r13. The new tires are rated for 65 Max psi, and my old tires were max rated and ran at 45 psi. Should I operate my new tires at 65 psi? 45 psi? Somewhere in between? Thanks

Thank you for your purchase of the Loadstar ST185/80D13 Bias Trailer Tire with 13" White Wheel # AM3S331!

Since these tires have a load range D (1,710 lbs at 65 psi) you need to run them at 65 psi to get that load rating. I've heard of people lowering the psi in the tires for better ride quality at lower trailer weights and while it is definitely possible to do that, when you lower the psi rating that means you'll also be lowering the weight capacity. Kenda doesn't have a chart showing different weight ratings for different psi ratings so you would be flying blind. Because of this I can only recommend running the tires at 65 psi for a safe towing experience.
