Question:
Is there a rule of thumb or approximation as to how much the voltage drop will be using the 30 foot extension cable?

Due to the thicker gauge wiring that comes with the Go Power Portable Solar Panel with Digital Solar Controller - 130 Watt Solar Panel # 34282730 that you referenced and it being at 30 feet there would be no voltage drop. It depends on the length of the wire but to get a 3 percent drop for 14 gauge wire doesn't occur till 50 foot. For 12 gauge it doesn't' occur till 60 feet.
