Recommended Rear Suspension Enhancement For Best Ride Quality On a 2022 Chevy Silverado 3500HD
Question:
What suspension enhancement system do you think better smoothes ride of 1 ton pickup with slide-in camper on washboard dirt roads - air-helper springs or polyurethane/rubber type? Any difference between single and double rear wheel vehicles? Assume I have no interest in adjusting to different loads. Thanks!

I recommend the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs # SSR-211-54 to best absorb bumps and give you the smoother ride on a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD with a slide in camper. These microcellular urethane springs are progressive and will help to absorb the shock from the bumps. You will be able to use this with either a single rear wheel or dually rear wheel on your Silverado.
Air springs and the harder rubber jounce springs will tend to give you more of a bounce on the washboard dirt roads. While these are generally better for reducing sag I find the air springs require adjustments for each load and the rubber jounce springs severely diminish the ride quality especially with no load.
