Which Blue Ox SwayPro Spring Bars Should Be Used for a Trailer with a 730lb. Tongue Weight

Question:

I currently have 1500lb SwayPro Spring Bars. My new trailer has a tongue weight of 730lb but probably nearer 1000lbs when loaded. Will the 1500lb bars be too stiff? If so would the 1000lb bars be better?

Expert Reply:

The Replacement Spring Bars for Blue Ox SwayPro Weight Distribution System # BXW4008 (1,500 lbs.) work for tongue weights between 1,000-1,500 lbs. so if your tongue weight is at that 1,000 lb. mark you will be ok. It may ride stiffer due to the lower weight, but it would be ok.

That being said, we do have the Replacement Spring Bars for Blue Ox SwayPro Weight Distribution System # BXW4007 (1,000 lbs.) available for your system which work for tongue weights between 750-1,000 lbs. With your trailer being at 730 lbs. this would be the best option for the most effective ride.
