Troubleshooting A Transmitter In The Custer Wireless LED Tow Bar Light That Is Not Working Anymore

Question:

I have a Mini Cooper the I use the system on. I bought this unit for the wireless system. Worked great for awhile. Now that I have had this for about 7 months, the transmitter will not work with the light bar any longer. I have not changed anything on my rig or tow vehicle.

I wet ahead and checked out the transmitter on the Custer Wireless LED Tow Bar Light - Weatherproof # LIW-LDTL-7B, and was able to find out that this unit gets it's power through the 7-pole on the back of your RV.

So when your RV has power to the 7-pole, and it is plugged in, the transmitter will send a signal to the light. This light does have an 3AH battery which can be replaced/charged that I recommend checking first, and it can be accessed from a panel at the bottom of the light.

The charge time on this battery is typically 6-8 hours and should be recharged daily, ideally. However, If you have already checked the battery and confirmed that that is working fine, then you're going to need to replace the entire unit as the transmitter is not available separately.
