Comparing Prodigy P3 and Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controllers for HDT 2009 Peterbilt
Question:
I am setting up a HDT 2009 Peterbilt for towing my 5th wheel. I have the ET Jackalopee interface for the wiring and wondered if the Redarc controller for brakes, or Prodigy P3 would be better to use for stopping? I would entertain other suggestions if you have them. Thanks

In terms of stopping, there will be no difference between the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty # RED52VR and the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195. Both of these are high quality proportional brake controllers that will perform well when it comes to braking. I would choose one based on the features you would prefer.
The main things the P3 has over the Liberty are an LCD display and the ability to store different settings. If you don't mind it taking up additional space in the cab of your truck and would like these features then I would choose the P3.
The Liberty mounts in an out of sight location with only the control knob visible in the cab of your truck. The knob controls the braking power and acts as the manual override. It uses a colored LED for simple diagnostics and does not have a display screen. I tend to lean towards the Redarc because it is simple and effective, without taking up any real additional space.
