The 5th Airborne Sidewinder 5th Wheel Air-Ride Coupler # ST400-5AS16K is intended for use with 5th wheel hitches on short-bed trucks. Replacement pin boxes need to be matched based on the original pin box on the 5th wheel trailer in order to ensure bolt-on compatibility.

This particular 19K pin box is a direct replacement for Youngs Welding standard and extended pin boxes, but will not fit in place of their tube style coupler. You will want to verify which pin box is installed on your trailer to be sure of compatibility with this replacement. The Sidewinder models will work well with all fifth wheel hitches, except for the Curt Q5, A5 and the B&W Companion. This pin box will move your pivot point 22-inches rearward for better turning clearance between the trailer and truck cab.

Please note that a Sidewinder is not recommended for use with a slider hitch (or at least the sliding function cannot be used with a Sidewinder pin box installed).
