Does 5th Air Borne Sidewinder RP61422 Have Different Height from Pin Box it Replaces

Question:

Can you explain the pin box height adjustments? From the Sidewinder diagram, it appears there is a 10.26 inch from the bottom bolts on the wing set and the pin box skid plate. My Demco hitch in the lowest position, sits about 4 inches below the top on the side bed rail. North Point trailer wing set s 6.5 inches below the overhang. Adding the wing set of 6.5 + pin box height of 10.26 - 4 inch sub-rail hitch level = 12.75 inches between my top of bed rail and the trailer overhang. With the trailer sitting mostly level: From center of bottom bolt to ground is 52.50 inches. From bottom of overhang to ground is 58.75 inches. From bottom of overhang to center of bottom bolt is 6.50 inches. Sounds like it might be way too nose high. Please tell me what I am missing.

The Reese 5th Airborne Sidewinder part # RP61422 does not have height adjustments built into it but you can use lower or higher mounting holes on the pin box of your trailer to allow it to sit higher or lower. This was designed to have a height dimension that is very close to the pin box style it replaces so if the pin box you have now is the correct height this would also fit. It is not a common occurrence for the install of a Sidewinder pin box to cause a trailer to all of a sudden sit nose high or low and worth mentioning is that we have not had anyone report to us that was the case for them. So I know you listed a lot of dimensions and I am not trying to ignore them but if your current pin box is a height that works with your hitch and trailer this Sidewinder will also.
