Will Demco Kar Kaddy X Bounce on Highway When Unloaded
Question:
Im interested in this Deomco tow dolly, but I have a question. Will it bounce if its towed empty? A few years back I had to rent a dolly from U-hauls and it bounced like crazy which made our trip pretty scary. Will the Demco model I looked at bounce like that? If so, is there a solution? Thanks.

Any unloaded tow dolly, like the Demco Kar Kaddy X # DM9713093, will bounce when empty and driving at higher speeds - this is just the nature of towing something relatively lightweight behind a motorhome. To help prevent this Demco recommends lowering the psi in the tires to 20 psi so the sidewalls aren't as rigid (might go lower if you still see bounce) and then don't go any faster than 55 mph. Be sure you fill the tires back up to the correct psi rating prior to loading a vehicle on the dolly though.
The only solution to this would be to always have weight on the tow dolly. This is actually something that people will find with an unloaded lightweight trailer as well so you aren't alone in your concerns.
