How To Replace A Dometic AC Rooftop Unit With The Advent Air AC Rooftop Unit

Question:

Do this install require a additional control box? Advent does not understand what I am referring to. Where do I get a control box. Your info on this unit does not describe any such item. I have the a/c on my airstream and no way to wire it.

The controller for your unit should be mounted separately to the air distribution box. It's hard to tell from the pictures you sent but if the wiring diagram you sent is correct for your unit then it's also showing it as a separate part from the rooftop unit.

The controller should have a connector sticking out of it like I have pictured below. Since your picture of the old rooftop unit has a bare wires I'm assuming they cut the connector off and just hardwired it, which is ok but a bit of a pain since you will have to splice the wires back together instead of simply pushing in the connector.

The Advent Air RV Air Conditioner # ACM150B is designed to simply plug right in to your system's controller using the same type of connector plug for an easy replacement. The connector can be cut off the unit if you have to hardwire it though.

The "Digital Control" on the wiring diagram picture is your controller so you can follow the wire colors on it to match it to the corresponding wires on the Advent Air unit. If you can send me some more pictures of the air distribution box and controller I can help walk you through the installation more.
