Helpful Expert Reply:
The Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System w/ 4-Point Sway Control # EQ37040ET is the weight distribution hitch for you.
When using a weight distribution hitch you need to be as close to the trailers tongue weight as possible. Being way under or way over the weight of the bars would be more dangerous. With your trailer weight 1500 pounds the tongue weight loaded would be around 200-250 pounds. The Equalizer system has a tongue weight ratio between 200 pounds to 400 pounds.
The system has a dipped steel construction and is durable and corrosion resistant, everything is included in the package except The Thin Walled Socket # EQ70-00-4800 which is need for the hitch ball installation.
