Brake Controller Wiring Harness for a 2014 Ram and Tekonsha P3

Question:

I installed a p3 controller and the 3023p plug and play harness in my 2014 dodge ram and there is no power from the trucks brake switch to the controller so there fore it wont work unless i manually apply the trailer brakes. Did i do something wrong or does the trucks computer need to be programmed for the application? I also tested for power to and from trucks brake light switch and found no power but my brake lights do function properly

The 2014 Dodge Ram requires a special brake controller wiring harness because it has a multi-plex system they call Powernet so the regular harness will not work. The proper harness for Tekonsha brake controllers is # 3023-P. I have linked a video showing and example installation for you.

You may have a blown CHMSL fuse and if so that could be why there is no power on the red wire. Be sure that red wire in the separate connector is plugged into the correct place.
